DIY COCKTAIL DRINK STIR STICKS

Throwing a party is always fun but adding in your own special diy touches really makes the difference for me. Today’s post has a fun diy that can be done three different ways and helps solve a problem that occurs quite often at parties!

One recurring issue I do see happening during parties often is guests forgetting what glass is theirs and moving on to another one. Now I don’t want to seem like a Grinch when it comes to cups (you want three…go ahead!) but I am trying to avoid the a) extra cleanup when it comes to things leftover – how does 8 guests equal 23 glasses??) and b) the waste. There are numerous times where I have dumped glasses still filled to the brim of alcohol and other liquid delights. I have definitely also been at events where I have placed my cup down for a moment on a busy table and lost track of it as well.

There is an easy fix for this! Individual cocktail drink stir sticks – see below for all the fun customizable details. Your guests can choose their favourite colours and never forget what drink is theirs in the future!

AUTUMN SANGRIA

I am absolutely obsessed with sangria and cannot turn down a glass when it is offered! Personally, the sweeter the better from my perspective but all of them are equally delicious (red, white and rose). Whenever I go to a new restaurant/bar I enjoy trying out their version of the sangria that they offer. I am always surprised by the different flavour combinations one simple drink can provide.

Although typically the sangria cocktail is a summer drink (patio season is bliss), I wanted to bring it into the season with some additional fall flavours. Who wants to let go of a good thing just because the leaves are turning colour !? With the holiday season approaching, it is always a nice option to have on hand for drinks and sometimes even needed after all those family dinners (I kid – well maybe a little!) Bring on the autumn sangria I say! The more the better!

ENTERTAINING BUCKET LIST: SUMMER EDITION

Every different season in the year brings on new adventures and fun activities to be tackled. I love me a good bucket list and I have seen so many pop up on Pinterest lately. They are pretty much all encompassing which is great but I wanted to create a special one for entertaining specifically. Most of the items I want to do each month involve friends, family and food so it’s a perfect fit! You can do the below on your own but having people over to enjoy the activities makes it that more special.

Whether you add these items to your main bucket list for the summer or keep them separate – they are sure to be a lot of fun for all!

ENTERTAINING WITH ICE CUBES

I know the title sounds a little crazy…..but hear me out! I think most people definitely don’t think of ice cubes as anything other than simple drink cooling tools but they can be so much more! Exhibit A below – how pretty do these look !? Essentially you can dress up your party with a little water and flowers! Ice cube trays in general are so versatile for life (freezing herbs with oil or leftover coffee etc.) but they really step it up when it comes to your next special event!

SPRING INSPIRATION COCKTAILS

This new Spring weather has me counting down the days until we can be sipping drinks on the patio…and I say “new” weather since we just had a freak ice storm last weekend! Crossing my fingers that this 15 degree Celsius weather stays with us and takes us right into summer.

As we are heading into Spring finalllly, I thought I would share some amazing cocktails that really get me in the mood to open my windows and enjoy the nice breeze. It’s been a while since I shared some amazing things from other entertainers and I can’t wait for you to check out the below!

1. ROSÈ HIBISCUS MIMOSAS from HOW SWEET EATS

Now these are calling my name for the next brunch I host or even for Mother’s Day. They contain tea so I am officially stating they are more healthy than not (please don’t tell your doctor I said so!). The colour from the hibiscus leaves is amazing and you never have to ask me about anything containing rosè – I always say yes!
