VALENTINE’S DAY CHOCOLATE DIPPED PRETZEL STICKS

I can’t believe we are already in February this year! It’s funny seeing all the memes online about January being the longest month ever when I always feel like it flies by. I’m not sure if this is because I am in the event’s industry and people tend to panic when the new year rolls around and realize they need to BOOK.EVERYTHING.EVERWHERE! For myself, the month can be super busy and tends to rush by! I will admit it is not my favourite month since Christmas is over and no new holidays are around to look forward to – I may be a holiday junkie and I don’t shy away from it!

February brings us an aura of pink and red that we can look forward to and just an overall love feeling for Valentine’s Day. Although we do not go over the top for Valentine’s Day, I still love seeing the heart decorations around and just the overall aspect of a fun holiday in the month. Also knowing Valentine’s Day is coming brings along thoughts of Spring and Easter which is also exciting.

Last year I put together a fun Valentine’s Day themed tablescape with the most adorable paper plates and cups (doesn’t always have to be fancy china!) but this year I wanted to make a fun treat you can give to your friends and family this season!

Chocolate dipped anything is usually a sign of something great therefore I figured I could not go wrong with these chocolate dipped pretzel rods. Surprisingly they were pretty quick to put together and only required 3 ingredients!

The cost is quite low for the whole dessert and it is a great treat to hand out to coworkers, neighbours or friends during the Valentine’s Day season! It is also a great craft to do with kids because they will have fun adding the sprinkles onto the pretzel rods. I hope you enjoy the yummy chocolate goodness!

Ingredients

  • 1 Bar White Chocolate (Lindt Swiss is delicious!) (100 grams)
  • 12 Pretzel Rod Sticks (Snyder’s Brand)
  • 1/4 cup Pink and Red Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and place close to where you will be melting the chocolate.

  2. Melt your white chocolate using a glass bowl or double boiler. JMS TIP: For more chocolate melting tips click here.

  3. First, determine how much of the pretzel you would like covered in chocolate. Take the pretzel rod stick and using a spoon – scoop the chocolate all over the stick (does not matter if thick in some parts – see next step).

  4. Ensure the full stick is covered and then lightly shake is back and forth in the bowl allowing the chocolate to evenly cover the stick and the excess will come off at the bottom.

  5. Once evenly coated, place the stick down on your parchment paper.

  6. Add on your favourite sprinkles all over the white chocolate. This step must be done immediately after placing the stick down otherwise the chocolate will harden.

  7. Repeat with all pretzel rods.

  8. Once all rods are finished, place the tray in a fridge or freezer for a few minutes to fully harden.

  9. Once complete they are ready to be transferred to a bowl or baggies to give away.

  10. Enjoy!
