Super Bowl is just a few days away and I am pumped! Personally I love watching the game and cheering on our household fav team (GO Patriots!) but I know not everyone coming is as excited to watch the specific teams play or to watch football in general. Therefore – it’s a good idea to include a few fun party games to keep those people interested and enjoying the party!
I’ve gathered a list of ideas that I hope you enjoy:
1. PROP BETS
We always like to have a prop bet for the Super Bowl to keep things interesting during the game. You can find many different ones online and a very generic one at party city but my husband Patryk always likes to create a new one each year. If you are unsure of what a prop bet is – it is essentially a bet made about the situations that can come up in a game (aka the Super Bowl or any sports in general). He likes to customize it depending on the teams playing as well as who will be performing at half time (ie. What awesome hair colour will Pink choose to showcase while singing the national anthem?).We set an amount of $10 per person and each player participating fills out the prop bet form. Answers are tracked throughout the game and the winner takes home the whole pot (although you can divide this up however works best for the group). It’s always a lot of fun and sometimes you get lucky $$$ !
FREE PRINTABLE: If you would like to participate in the fun I have attached the one my husband has created. It has a mix of questions between the football game and the half time show. Don’t worry if you have no idea what to select – guessing is half the fun! BEST OF LUCK!
2. POKER TOURNAMENT (or board game tournament)
Another one of our traditions is to host a poker tournament before the game starts. The Super Bowl does not start until after 6:00pm therefore there is plenty of time in the afternoon to get together and hang out with friends. Poker has become a Super Bowl tradition for us but you can always setup a board game tournament as well!
3. FOOTBALL THROWING GAMES
Since it is February I don’t actually mean going out and throwing the football around unless you want to fall into the snow! There are some great fun “throwing” games that can be found at party stores and get people competing against each other. If possible – have a bowl of some cheap prizes (ie. candy bar, $1 scratch ticket, gum etc.) that people can compete for. Friendly competition never hurt anyone and usually ends up in laughter among friends.
JMS TIP: Hit up your local dollar store for some fun cheap prizes that you can give out. Some items even come in packs together for a lower price. Also throughout the year if you come across any sale items (other than food) that can be used for prizes keep them stored for the future. They will for sure come in handy at your next party!

4. BEER PONG or WATER PONG or JUICE PONG – whatever pong works!
Ping pong balls of all NFL teams are easy available and you can put on your own pong Super Bowl before the game. Maybe this will predict the future? Maybe you will learn your aim is horrible? Either way you will have fun I promise!

5. FOOTBALL COMMERCIAL BINGO
Obviously aside from the actual Super Bowl game and half time show – most people are there for the new commercials. Some people are only there for the commercials! I think we can all agree the commercials are awesome. Unfortunately being in Canada we do not have access to see all the main U.S Super Bowl commercials and have the pleasure of googling them the next day. Before I digress into a rant (lol) I found this hilarious Bingo Game based on T.V Commercials that appear throughout the Super Bowl. You score if things like “a move trailer” come on or a commercial for pizza appears and then you scream B-I-N-G-O !!!! and collect your prize. Simple as that!
