Summer has arrived in full force and I am so excited to start enjoying our patio! Summer entertaining is always the best – the feel is more casual and the food is amazingly fresh. People seem to be more relaxed and enjoy just sitting outside together for hours. My favourite thing is to gather everyone in the backyard and host an amazing BBQ – people can enjoy themselves in the fresh air and cleanup is a breeze! Our current house does not have a backyard option but we will be moving in 2019 and I am so excited to plan our summer parties. Chilled Sangria anyone? All the items below have really caught my eye for the summer and I can see them in various entertaining options.

1. COPPER-PLATED HAMMERED STEEL SERVING TRAY ($29.99 $23.99) – Heart ♥ it here!

How gorgeous is this tray? I can just picture it as a serving tray for your favourite summer cocktails or as a nice decor piece corralling all your entertaining supplies such as napkins, plates, utensils etc. The copper shines and the detailing makes the piece really stand out. 2. BLUSH PINK MASON JAR WATER DISPENSER ($35) – Heart ♥ it at The Real Canadian Superstore!

I love anything blush pink especially when it comes to Spring/Summer items. When I saw this water dispenser at our local Canadian Superstore I could just picture it out at the next BBQ bash! Also it comes with matching mason jar mugs – how perfect?! Found at Superstore.

3. IKEA SOMMAR PLASTIC FLATWARE SET – 18 PIECES ($1.99) – Heart ♥ it here!

The best part about the summer is entertaining outside = NO large cleanup needed! I love having some disposable utensils on hand that can be thrown out/receycled once the party is over. As a reminder, Summer is about relaxing and fun – not cleaning for hours! This set which has blush pink, white and turquoise utensils is the perfect little addition of colour to your gathering . Just because you want to use plastic utensils – doesn’t mean you can’t do it in style! Found at Ikea.

4. LEXA 10″ DINNER FERN PLATE ($2.99) – Heart ♥ it here!

I’m sure you have noticed more and more outdoor dining ware sets popping up in your favourite stores as the summer approaches. I noticed them really coming into play about a year or two ago but in 2018 everything has exploded in full force which is beyond amazing! I love love entertaining outside and I am glad that the purchasing industry has finally come on board and brought in amazing patterns for us to choose from. There are so many beautiful sets out there and most are made of plastic or bamboo fibre – great for outside play since nothing will ever break! The designs are endless but this classic tropical version caught my eye at JYSK (and it comes in various sizes plus has cups too!). It just reminds me of tropical weather and everything that is great about summer. Even though they are plastic the dinning sets look amazing for any party you will host – check out this pink and orange summer patio party I put together last year for inspiration. Found at JYSK.

5. WHAT’S GABY COOKING: EVERYDAY CALIFORNIA FOOD ($28.52) – Heart ♥ it here!

I have been waiting to get my hands on this book ever since Gaby announced it on her website!  If you don’t follow her already (where have you been hiding?) you need to check out her recipes stat! She posts the most amazing, mouthwatering recipes including weekly meal plans to help you prep your week. I had not seen the book in stores yet and was waiting for it to come to Canada to purchase. This weekend I was surprised by my dear friend Kusala from KuKaru Designs (<– where she posts amazing tutorials and diy’s  for homemade crafts that you need to check out!) with Gaby’s cookbook for my birthday! I am beyond excited to spend the next few days sitting on the patio flipping through these recipes and planning out my summer lineup! Can’t wait to show you some! Found on Amazon.
