If you read my Entertaining Bucket List post a few weeks back you may recognize the drink idea below. One of my points for the Christmas season was to “host an epic hot chocolate bar with toppings galore” which is exactly what I am doing. As you may already know I love a good “diy” and this one is no exception. Whether serving just for two people as shown below or creating for a whole group – I absolutely love getting creative with the toppings and seeing what people put together.
Nothing beats a cozy winter day inside cuddling up with a blanket and some hot chocolate. I have been dreaming of having a Christmas hot chocolate in my hands and finally tis the season! Plan your perfect cozy night in with the setup below!
For my setup, I’ve created a cozy drink bar for two people to show you how this can be done on a small scale. Usually, when looking at diy bars they are made for a large group of people (which is great) but sometimes you don’t realize that it can be paired down on a smaller scale. This is something special you can set up for your next date night in!
The best part about this hot chocolate diy bar setup is that you can go crazy with your imagination and add whatever toppings you love the best!
Toppings I went with:
- Mini Marshmallows
- Candy Cane Pieces
- Scor Pieces
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Sea Salted Caramel Chips
There were so many others I wanted to add in also (Christmas sprinkles, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips etc.) but I limited it to my top 5 favourites. The best place to purchase these toppings is at your local bulk barn as you can buy them in small quantities to suit your needs. Also if you have any toppings left over you can use them to make homemade chocolates!
I hope you are inspired to try this fun diy bar this season. Christmas time always inspires me to become creative and think outside the box!
