Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Power
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 1 cup Milk (any kind)
  • 1 cup Nutella (overflowing)
  • 300 grams Chocolate
  • 1 set Sprinkes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Add the flour, baking powder and baking soda into one bowl - stir together.

  3. In a separate bowl add sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla extract. Beat together for 1 minute until combined and creamed together.

  4. Add dry ingredients into the bowl along with the cup of milk. Stir well until combined.

  5. Grease 9-inch baking pan and add the batter in. Bake for 35-40 mins.

JMS TIP: All ovens are SO different and can bake at different levels. Once you hit 30 mins I would suggest keeping an eye out on the cake because you may require less time. You will know the cake is done when you can insert a toothpick into it and it comes out clean.

  6. Set cake aside to cool  - at least 1-2 hours

  7. Once cooled - take cake into a large bow and break into tiny tiny pieces. All large lumps should be eliminated and fine crumbs should remain.

  8. Add in 1 heaping cup of Nutella into the mixture and combine with the cake crumbs. This takes some time but keep combing together until no crumbs are left and the mixture can be rolled into balls.

  9. Take 1 tablespoon of the "batter" (does not need to be measured - just approx) and roll into small balls. Place on baking sheet to freeze. Repeat until all the dough has been formed into the cake balls.

  10. Put sticks into balls and freeze for 45 mins to 1 hour.

  11. When you are ready to pull out the balls, melt your chocolate using a glass bowl or double boiler.

  12. Dip ball into melted chocolate and add sprinkles (optional).

  13. Have a styofoam square or other type of box ready to insert your cake pops for drying.

  14. Since the balls are frozen the chocolate will harden quite easily in a few minutes. Place in fridge for additional help in hardening the chocolate.

  15. Enjoy!
