DIY COCKTAIL DRINK STIR STICKS

Throwing a party is always fun but adding in your own special diy touches really makes the difference for me. Today’s post has a fun diy that can be done three different ways and helps solve a problem that occurs quite often at parties!

One recurring issue I do see happening during parties often is guests forgetting what glass is theirs and moving on to another one. Now I don’t want to seem like a Grinch when it comes to cups (you want three…go ahead!) but I am trying to avoid the a) extra cleanup when it comes to things leftover – how does 8 guests equal 23 glasses??) and b) the waste. There are numerous times where I have dumped glasses still filled to the brim of alcohol and other liquid delights. I have definitely also been at events where I have placed my cup down for a moment on a busy table and lost track of it as well.

There is an easy fix for this! Individual cocktail drink stir sticks – see below for all the fun customizable details. Your guests can choose their favourite colours and never forget what drink is theirs in the future!

NEW YEAR’S ENTERTAINING GOALS

Happy New Year! I can’t believe we are officially in 2019! I absolutely love the new year and cannot wait to plan out everything I will be doing for 2019. I will say I am a little late and officially starting the new year today – who thought Wednesday was a good idea?? Seriously! I also thought writing this post today would be good for everyone that has already set their goals. I understand that when planning your 2019 mindset and writing down all the goals you want to accomplish this year – hosting your friends over for a games night usually does not come to mind and that is completely understandable. Not that entertaining is not important but I do think the main focus of inspiration for your goals should be about bettering yourself as a person overall and entertaining goals may fall down a little bit under the top categories. Although not to be overlooked because coming out of your comfort zone and cooking more or having friends and family over will definitely fill your cup of happiness at the end of the day!

I’ve created an entertaining goals spreadsheet that breaks down into 3 different categories. Each category to help you focus on one aspect of entertaining and get you out of your comfort zone. Get ready to plan out one fun year!

And you can match it to any colour theme you have going on!

HOW TO THROW AN EASY CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING PARTY

Decorating cookies for Christmas can be so much fun but also a little stressful! The cookie decorating setups look even grander and make me question how are they possible with 10 people attending ?!

I’ve put together a few ideas on how to throw an easy Christmas cookie decorating party that won’t break the bank or stress you out! Down below are a few tips on how to put together this event without going overboard and spending a week planning it out.

NEW YEAR’S EVE TABLESCAPE – BLACK AND SILVER

I have never been a huge New Year’s Eve person which I definitely think most people can relate to. Not to be confused with the New Year in general which I absolutely LOVE! Planning out a fresh year, looking back at goals and creating new ones – that’s my jam… but that is a post for another day. New Year’s Eve on the other hand just seems to always be a huge build up and never really delivers in my opinion. The holidays are busy enough therefore by the end of December I am ready to stay in with friends and do something low key.

While I love getting in sweats and relaxing on the couch with m bffs, I do think that staying in with friends can sometimes use a little pizzazz. This is a quick tablescape that I whipped up which primarily consists of Christmas ornaments! No need to venture out for New Year’s themed decor – just use what you have to add some sparkle to the table this year!
