These tortilla pinwheels are such an easy thing to whip up if you need a quick appetizer. I’ve created two recipes below which you can follow or change up with your own ideas! I love this appetizer because you can essentially customize it in multiple ways. Also this can be more than just an appetizer – makes a great lunch or snack in general!
I have to be honest with you – these guys do not photograph well! I haven’t encountered this often but I promise they are more delicious than they seem – especially the spinach smoked salmon (my fav!). Don’t judge a book by its cover!
When making them the main tip I can offer is to try to smooth out everything evenly (ie. hummus, cream cheese etc.) and add the food items in even layers for easy rolling. Once you have the tortilla rolled, take your time cutting it into pieces. The tortilla is quite soft therefore you do not want to mush it together.
JMS TIP: As I mentioned above you can customize these in so many different ways. For example – add in a sauce you like, substitute for a different green leaf (hello arugula!), change the cheese to your fav! The only rule that you MUST stick with is to not add in anything too bulky otherwise you will have a hard time rolling the tortilla and cutting it up nicely. Even my peppers were starting to push the threshold therefore I would suggest cutting even smaller pieces! Also I used spinach and plain tortilla wraps but there are various ones to choose from!

TORTILLA PINWHEELS
Gobble these tortilla pinwheels up one at a time!
Ingredients
SPINACH SALMON TORTILLA PINWHEEL
- 1 Spinach Tortilla
- 2 tbls Cream Cheese
- 15 Spinach Leaves (approx)
- 2 pieces Smoked Salmon (about 30-40 grams)
- 1 teaspoon Honey Mustard
RED PEPPER CHEESE TORTILLA PINWHEEL
- 1 Plain Tortilla
- 1 1/2 tbls Hummus (plain or roasted red pepper)
- 2 1/2 tbls Red Pepper (tiny tiny pieces)
- 2 slices Havarti Herb & Spices Cheese
- 15 Spring Mix Pieces
Instructions
INSTRUCTIONS FOR: SPINACH SALMON TORTILLA PINWHEEL

Spread the cream cheese in a thin layer on the tortilla.

Place spinach leaves around tortilla covering the cream cheese.

Place the salmon pieces around wrap (not over lapping each other).

Spread the honey mustard on top of your salmon.

Roll the tortilla into a long tube and cut into 1 inch pieces (you may need to discard the ends - or eat them!).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: RED PEPPER CHEESE PINWHEEL

Spread the hummus in a thin layer on the tortilla.

Sprinkle the tiny red pepper pieces evenly around the tortilla.
-
Place the cheese pieces around wrap (not over lapping each other).

Place the spring mix leaves around tortilla covering the cream cheese.
